Full Tilt Review

Full Tilt Poker endorses Phil Ivey and has the highest stakes games in online poker.
Let’s start by looking at Full Tilt’s deposit bonus. Their initial signup bonus is a 100% match on your initial deposit, up to a maximum of $600. The money is not just given to you though, it must be earned, which is common practice at poker sites. After all, what would stop you from just taking your deposit bonus and fleeing? Of course you wouldn’t do that, would you?
So how do you earn the bonus? It’s quite simple. For every game you play, you’ll collect points based on the size of the rake. You can collect up to 3 points per game if the rake reaches three dollars, and each of these points is worth $.06. Tournaments and Sit ‘n’ Go’s award you 7 points for each dollar in fees spent. When you reach each 10% milestone, that amount of money will be added to your account. For example, a $600 would have increments of $60, so when you collect enough points to reach the $60 plateau, voila, $60 gets added to your account.
Now if you looked at the above example, you may be thinking that you’re going to have to play a heck of a lot of games to collect your full bonus, and you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong. Even at the maximum rake per hand, it would take approximately 3,500 hands to collect a full $600 matching bonus. Certainly seems like a lot, and that’s the minimum, but balancing this is the fact that you have 120 days to collect your match bonus, while many sites are not nearly as generous in their timeframes. That amounts to about 30 hands a day on average, which can easily be accomplished in an hour playing at a single table. If you’re the multi-tasking type, or like playing for hours on end, you can easily play hundreds of hands in a day.
A disappointment is the current lack of any type of deposit bonus on subsequent deposits. This is not a standard in the industry, but there are other sites which offer at least small matching bonuses past the initial deposit. The truth of the matter is that the site is so good, you’ll probably stick around anyways, and they know it!
So why should you play at Full Tilt Poker? Where should we begin…This site was established in 2004 and has quickly risen to the top of the poker heap through aggressive marketing, outstanding software, and a constantly growing team of poker legends in their stable. This who’s who list of poker greats, all which can be found plying their trade at a virtual table near you includes Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, Erik Seidel, and Allen Cunningham, among others.
The games available to these stars and yourself is a diverse set, including the commonly found Hold’em, Omaha, and 7-card stud, and the rather uncommon Razz, H.O.R.S.E, and H.O.S.E. All game types come with the full array of pot settings and table types, such as heads up, or full on.
The selection of tournaments is vast, with a monthly $1 million guaranteed, Big Money Sunday’s each week with a $750,000 guaranteed, and chances to gain entry to major poker tournaments like The World Series of Poker. In fact, Full Tilt is offering $10 million to anyone who qualifies for the WSOP through Full Tilt and wins the Grand Prize, on top of the tournament winnings themselves. Without a doubt an offer that you won’t find anywhere else.
The software is outstanding, with selectable backgrounds and a very clean and polished look. Avatars are also extremely well done, coming in a customizable, anime-inspired style. Further options let you customize just about everything you could possibly need or want to, including the color of the cards, the ability to turn off pot and bet displays, and removing the avatars.
The website is loaded with tons of additional features as well, including podcasts and vodcasts, chat logs involving Team Full Tilt members, blogs, a tips section, detailed game rules, and even videos of the many Full Tilt commercials past and present. Chances are you’ve seen many of them already if you watch your share of T.V, but if not, there they are for your viewing pleasure.
Full Tilt Points, which we mentioned in the deposit section, are not just for bonuses. They can also be used to purchase your way into tournaments, buy Full Tilt branded merchandise, or a wide range of other products, including electronics, and luxury items like a motorcycle. One little quirk you may notice when searching through their rewards on offer is the somewhat prohibitive cost of a custom avatar, clocking in at 1,000,000 points. To put that in perspective, you could pick up a 50” plasma T.V, a 30” wide screen monitor, and a 32GB Apple iPod for less. It just may be the ultimate way to prove one of many different things: You’re a minimalist, you’re great at poker, you’re rich, or you’re really vain. We haven’t decided yet, but there certainly is no better way to show your love for Full Tilt than by picking up one of these avatars.
For anyone serious about poker, Full Tilt has to be one of the sites at the top of your list. With great software, a bevy of skilled players, massive traffic, a great selection of tournaments and games, and a nice deposit bonus to get you started, it’s a well-rounded site that promises to keep getting better and better.
